Love Is Blind

Posted on January 31, 2008 by Hye

You Comment I Follow Remember our topic about Describe Red To A Blind Person? Just asking... The topic just came into my mind after finally decided what topic to discuss today. Our next topic is about Love is Blind. Since we are focusing on topics about love - all kinds of love - as a preparation for the Heart's month, expect that my future posts will solely be about love.

Now, let me share my opinion about love being blind. I usually hear people saying "Love is blind because that girl loves him despite his imperfections"... "Love is blind because he love her inspite of her incapabilities". .. "Love must be blind because he accepted him for whatever she is". Love is blind because parents often not see the faults and mistakes of their children... and so on.

Everytime I hear these sentences...I often disagree. I don't believe in their statement "Love is blind". For me, love is not blind. If love is blind, then one can't see the real person he love. One won't know the real meaning of love.

For me, love is not blind because you saw something in him that other people don't usually see. You saw something in him that other people don't know. Let's take my former neighbor (not my neighbor with noisy and loud karaoke) as an example. He married his wife despite his imperfections and past. My other neighbors often say "It's because he is blind (not literally)".

I think my neighbor who married his imperfect wife is not the one who is blind. I think my neighbors who said "Love is blind" are the one who are actually blind. Why? Because they did not see the things the man saw in his wife which made him marry and love her. They only see what their naked eyes see.

Love is not blind because love is knowing him for whatever he is and accepting it with no regrets :D

Domain Registration

One key for website success is the so called domain name registration or having your own domain name. You must have your own domain name to build your own label and personality to your readers. Honestly, I am thinking about buying my own domain in the future because I believe having my own .com or .net or .biz is better rather having a free name with the extension of the hosting provider.

If you are currently thinking of buying a domain name, you must consider its price too. The cheaper, the better. Nowadays, there are a lot of places where you can register a domain and one of them is Pay less Domains. 24/7 Customer Support

The Power Of Unconditional Love

Posted on January 30, 2008 by Hye

You Comment I Follow Yesterday, we talked about I love you because... Since most of us agreed about loving someone for no reason, I would like to talk about unconditional love, which a little related to our topic yesterday.

First, let's take the definition of unconditional love from Wikipedia.com:

Unconditional love is a concept that means showing love towards someone regardless of his or her actions or beliefs. It is a concept comparable to true love, a term which is more frequently used to describe love between lovers. By contrast, unconditional love is frequently used to describe love between family members, comrades in arms and between others in highly committed relationships. It has also been used in a "religious" context to describe God's love for mankind.

Great definition right? Unconditional love was properly defined. I have nothing to add. Do you?

Now that we know what unconditional love means, let me ask you if you practice unconditional love?

Do you practice unconditional love? Do you love your parents despite of their mistakes and deeds... do you love your partner despite his imperfections... do you love your self despite your weaknesses... do you accept your friends despite their mistakes?

Or do you often say "I love you... if you will change your bad attitudes", "I love you... if you will climb the highest mountain", "I love you.. if you will jump at the highest building", "I love you if you can prove you love me too" and so on?

Common, let's be honest. If we lie, there's no one you'll be lying to except yourself... honesty is the best policy.

I Love You ... Because...

Posted on January 29, 2008 by Hye

You Comment I Follow If you were asked to continue the above statement, how will you do it? Will you say...

I love you because...
... you are rich and powerful.
... you are sweet.
... you are handsome/beautiful.
... you are kind.
... you are most wanted and having you makes me feel lucky.

Or do you have other words to include... maybe other positive adjectives.

Think... think... think... how will you continue it?

In my opinion... there should no "Because". If you truly love a person, you will just simply say "I love you". No because. No ifs. No what ifs. Just as simple as I love you. Period.

This is a very short post and I'll leave everything on you :D Maybe I'll continue this post tomorrow.

Anyway, what's your stand about LOVE. Let's concentrate the topic with romantic love - your love to the opposite sex. Do you love him... with the word because?

PhotoDo you currently need an instant cash? Payday is still a long wait but the need for cash is intense and immediate? Had you heard about cash advance and payday loans?

Love Thy Neighbor

Posted on January 28, 2008 by Hye

Love Thy NeighborYou Comment I Follow Two of the Ten Commandments are pertaining about loving our neighbors.

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10. You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.

When I was about seven years old or younger, I remember that we were so close with our neighbors, which some of them happened to be our keen family too. But as time passes by, things get different. Hatred and jealousy started to grow the gap between us until it came to the point where we no longer talk to each other. Why? Both sides have their own reasons.. and sometimes silence is the best way so as not to worsen the gap.

Honestly, the gap is only between our grandparents, but due to some point... my parents, aunts, cousins were also affected... until it came to the point that no one is already talking.

Now, where is the statement "Love thy neighbor" applies. Right now where I am living away from my family, I don't neither like my new neighbors. I hate it when their karaoke is too loud early in the morning. I hate it when I am watching a movie, but their karaoke is noisier. I hate it when their karaoke is too loud late in the evening. I hate it when the couples are quarreling as if they were the only people on Earth. I also hate it when their child is crying and no one is comforting him.

Just wanna share you guys how I don't like my neighbor. Right now, their karaoke is too loud and I can't concentrate with what I am doing. Where is the love???!

Why People Fall In Love?

Posted on January 27, 2008 by Hye

You Comment I FollowOnly four days to go before the Month of the Hearts... and exactly sixteen days to count before the Valentines Day. Whew, days are slipping so fast. One day it was New Year and now, we're looking forward for the Hearts' Day.

Had you started planning your date? :D

I started posting articles about love days ago. I think it's pretty early.. but I can't stop myself. I want to share my views about love as early as I can. I got a lot of topics to cover so, you'll be expecting my future posts will definitely about my opinions and thoughts regarding love and relationship. Join me and let's all fall in love :D

Today, I want to share my views on why people fall in love. Honestly, I'm a hopeless romantic person. I love romances and sentiments. In short, I love the feeling of being loved by the person I love.

Why People Fall In LoveBut why do we fall in love?

It's a question which is hard to answer... or a question that has no answer at all. I think it's a mystery why we fall in love. It is a question that makes me think but I never found an answer. With my years of living, I never discovered the answer why people fall in love. Maybe I'm still young... or maybe, this question doesn't need an answer at all. Instead, love should be felt, not discovered nor learned.

Even Science has no answer to this question. Even Math can't compute how the process of falling in love goes. Maybe it's Chemistry, only our hearts know how… because even our mind can't control our hearts to fall in love. In my opinion, people fall in love to experience and to feel love, which is the greatest gift of all. No questions. No answers.

Now, what do you think why people fall in love?

I Have Been Tagged By My Friends

Posted on January 25, 2008 by Hye

You Comment I FollowToday's Friday... supposedly, I should be giving an award to our readers and commentators, but because I was overwhelmed by the award and tagging I received this week, I thought today is the best day to share them. Maybe I will give an award tomorrow or the next day.

First, I received a tag from a friend BlueCrystalDude asking me how happy am I. I took the quiz at BlogThings and here's the result:

You Are 92% Happy

It's unlikely that you know anyone happier than you.
You know how to be happy, no matter what life throws at you.

Sure, I am 92% happy.. I am still wondering where's the other 8% go... Hmmmnnn. It said, "it is unlikely that I know anyone happier than me"... Right. They are the people I love, which include you :D. I'm happy because there are a lot of reasons to be happy. A simple thing can make me happy. If I list them all here, maybe it will take me forever, which I don't want to happen. I always find a reason to be happy over a simple thing because I know, if I'll be sad and down, I'm the loser. So, why can't I be happy when it's free? :D

Anyway, I am passing this tag to our friends: AC Associates, Benjamin, M. Apip, Richard, SweetiePie, SimpleMindz, Mr_viruz, Isel, Tee, Robin, Gypsy, Hailie, Cathara, Miniscale, Ratu, Princess_Sabrina, Black Tom Cassidy, Rose, and Ramil.

Take the quiz and share how happy you are. If your name does not appear here, I am sure you have been tagged earlier :D

Another tag from a friend Waliz where she asked me the things I love and I hate. I can list a lot of things but of course, but I can't list them all. Maybe just a few.

Five things/people I love are: * My Family, Hon, and Friends *Honest and sincere people *Fruits *Cooking *Sleeping

My AwardFive things/people I hate are: * Noisy, hypocrite, liar, and rude people *My Internet connection keeps on disconnecting *People who are one-sided and doesn't see things at a bigger picture *People who discriminates other people * The President of my country (You know why).

Now, let's ask our friends mentioned earlier about the things they love and hate.

Lastly, my blog was featured as Interesting Blog of the Month and received another award as well. You may read my interview with Bluedreamer at his blog. See you there.

That's all for now.. happy tagging everyone... If your name listed above, please pass this meme on. Let's share the love to one another. Thank you.

Love At First Sight, Really?

Posted on January 24, 2008 by Hye

You Comment I FollowDo you believe in love at first sight? Why?

As for me, I don't... I don't think there is such thing as love at first sight? How can you possibly fall in love for someone who you don't personally know.. who you only laid eyes on once?

I admit, when I was a teenager, I always believed in love at first sight. Whenever I saw a cute guy next door, I thought I love him. I was just a teenager that time, so I guess it's acceptable. That time, I still don't know what love to opposite gender means. Maybe I was just taken by the love stories I read or movies I watched.

But then, as I grow up and mature, I begun to realize that there is no such thing as love at first sight. It's not possible.

It's not love... just a simple and plain attraction… maybe you were only attracted by his good looks… by his sweet smile… or his gentle moves. It’s not because you are attracted, it doesn't mean you love him.

Every time I overhear a teenager saying he love the guy he met at a party or some stories that goes like this, I smile to myself and thought “Just another teenager...”

Love does not develop instantly. It takes time to mature. Love is acceptance. Infatuation and attraction are not love. Thus, in my opinion there is no such thing as love at first sight :D

Give A Little Love And It All Comes Back

Posted on January 23, 2008 by Hye

You Comment I Follow "Give a little love... and it all comes to you.."

Again let me ask you Are you familiar with these lines?

It was the lines from one of the Coca-Cola's advertisements. Had you watched it? The first time I saw the commercial, I was touched. Too bad, it's no longer played. Anyway, I'm not to talk about the commercial today, but I want to talk about the statement "Give a little love.. and it all comes back to you".

Sound like the Golden Rule too, right? Do unto others what you want others do unto you.

Give a little loveGive love and they will love you back. Nah... you may disagree. You may say "I love this girl I am courting but she doesn't love me back, so how come you're saying give a little love and she will love you back?" You may have your point... but isn't it love is not expecting anything in return?

Tell me, are you required to love because you are expecting something in return or are you loving someone without hoping for anything back? Can you not love someone without expecting something in return? It is better to give than to receive, right?

I think the main idea of the lines "Give a little love and it all comes back to you" is to let us spread the love. Love is free.. it doesn't cost anything so why can't we not give it to anyone... to our neighbors, to our officemates, to our parents, to our siblings, to our friends, to an orphan... some of them loves you back.. and if there are some who doesn't then, so be it. Just spread the love, you have nothing to lose :D

Let's Take a Peek At SaveBuckets

Posted on by Hye

Just this week, I decided to buy an Apple iPhone as a price for myself. Honestly, I'm a very thrift shopper, which means I prefer buying stuffs with lower and reasonable price rather than buying the expensive ones. I've been searching online for the best place which offers the best, affordable, and practical price for an iPhone… that's the time I found SaveBuckets website.

SaveBuckets.co.uk is a free website that helps shoppers find great offers at a reasonable price. They almost have everything - from consumer electronics, home and garden, computer hardware, electronic games, clothing, and others. You name it, they got it.

On their homepage, they listed four of the hottest and best-selling products. They also have a Search box where you can enter your desired product. Say, if you are planning to buy mp3 players you just have to enter it in the Search box and hit "Go Find” button.

On their search results, they list the products that matched your query as ordered by relevance. On each product, they give you the product description, specifications, manufacturer, best price, and the name of shop which offers the best price.

Another amazing factor about SaveBuckets is their "My Price" section. If you wish to buy something yet your budget isn’t enough, you just enter your email address and desired price at this section and when the price becomes available from their suppliers, they will inform you.

So if you are currently looking for a new gadget, then take a peek at SaveBuckets and start comparing prices.

Karma - What Goes Around Comes Around

Posted on January 22, 2008 by Hye

You Comment I Follow...what goes around, comes around.
What goes up, must come down...

Are you familiar with these lines? If you are very fond of music, them I'm sure you do :D

Do you believe in Karma? How about "History repeats itself"?

First let's try to define what karma means. According to Wikipedia.com:

Karma (Sanskrit: kárma (help•info), kárman- "act, action, performance"[1]; Pali: kamma; Chinese: yinguo ) is the concept of "action" or "deed" in Indian religions understood as that which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect (i.e., the cycle called samsara) described in Hindu, Jain, Sikh and Buddhist philosophies.

...the philosophical explanation of karma can differ slightly between traditions, but the general concept is basically the same. It is usually understood as a sum of all that an individual has done, is currently doing and will do. The results or 'fruits' of actions are called karma-phala. Karma is not about retribution, vengeance, punishment or reward; karma simply deals with what is. The effects of all deeds actively create past, present and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life, and the pain and joy it brings to others...

Honestly, I do believe in karma. I know several people who were affected by Karma and are still suffering from it. For example, they stole something or cheated someone... Afterwards, they lost most of their properties, or someone they love.

KarmaMost of the times, when we do something that is not good, or worsen other people's lives; karma often comes back to us. Sometimes, indirectly. Sometimes, lighter than the sin. But most of the times, worse than what you had done...

For example, if you did something wrong like you stole someone's wallet in your office, even though, no one will stole your wallet (because you don't have a wallet), time will come, you will also lose something... something precious to you. That is karma.

Now, let me ask you "Do you believe in karma?"

Describe Red To A Blind Person

Posted on January 21, 2008 by Hye

You Comment I FollowI should be giving my opinion regarding the difference between giving a try and giving your best, but I am still waiting for more opinions so I will let it that way. Maybe, I will post it tomorrow or the next day. So, if you haven't cast your opinion yet, take some time and share it here Giving A Try Versus Doing Your Best.

Today, I want to let you think again by asking another question. Who knows, I might give away another award. Maybe we can call it "Most Clever" award. Just for fun, what do you think?

So my question is "How will you describe the color RED to a blind person"? I'm talking about a person who was blind since birth. Imagine yourself with a blind person and he was asking you to describe the color red to him, how will you explain it?

Clever
Actually, this was asked by my interviewer when I was interviewed for my job. I never thought nor imagined this question will be asked. In short I wasn't prepared. Again, I was mentally blanked. But I gave my answer in the best way I could. Want to know my answer? Nah… maybe after yours :D

So, if you were at my shoes that time, how will you answer your interviewer? Please answer it on your own… no peaking :D

Who knows, in the future, your interviewer will ask this same question too. In case someone will, you’ll be prepared.

Happy thinking :D

Giving a Try Versus Doing Your Best

Posted on January 20, 2008 by Hye

You Comment I Follow"Okay, can you tell me the difference between giving a try and doing your best?"

That was my former boss' question actually. I was new to that company - three months old to be exact - when he asked us that question. We were having a team meeting and out of nowhere he asked every head in the room on how to differentiate "giving a try" and "doing your best".

Being a fresh college graduate landing her first job who was asked that question, my initial expression was "mentally blank". Honestly, I was really blank that time. Too good I wasn't the first one being asked. If that would be the case, it will be an embarrassing moment. Maybe I will just turn red and say "I think they are the same" or worst "I don't know".

Try and TryAll of us were obliged to answer but I really can't think that time. I never thought they are different. I always thought they are just the same. Not literally, but maybe logically.

Think... Think.. Think... Don't cram... Just think...

If he asked the difference between the two phrases, then maybe there is actually "a difference". Common Hye, concentrate!

Time's up...

Now it's my turn... want to know my answer? I will not tell you today:D Why don't you share your opinion first and I’ll tell mine later? I will also share how my boss differentiated the two phrases :D

Happy Thinking :D

Your Life Is Your Decision

Posted on January 19, 2008 by Hye

Ever come to the point where you blamed someone - say your parents - for whatever bad happened in your life? Let's say, you’re unsuccessful because they keep on telling you what you should do with your life. They were the one who choose your college degree, choose your friends, or choose your outfit, etc. You may not blame them verbally, but at least mentally.

Can you relate? Maybe you have a different situation in mind, but these are the only scenario I can cite right now.

Your Life Is Your DecisionHonestly, I used to blame my parents – as I say earlier not verbally, but mentally. I have great respect to my parents but sometimes, I just can’t help myself not to blame them for choosing my college degree. Actually, it's not “swearing”, just simple blaming. No hate – plainly blaming.

But that was before - that was when I was younger where I have a shallow understanding in life. But as I get to know more about life and reality, I no longer blame them. I grow more mature. I began thinking “What’s the use of blaming? Why am I blaming them? It’s not their fault. It’s mine.”

That’s right. You may agree or disagree with me but it’s my point of view.

In my opinion, whatever happening in your life is your decision. You are what you are. Your life is the product of your decision. If you took a college degree chosen by your parents, it’s because you choose to follow them. You may admit it or not, it is still your decision – one way or another.

So why do you blame them? Why not blame yourself? It kills me when I am hearing someone blaming his parents because of being poor. If your parents choose to be poor, it doesn’t mean you will be poor too. You can choose to be rich. The decision is yours. Your parents did not send you to school so there is no way for you to become rich? If there are some poor people who weren’t sent to school yet they are rich right now, then why can’t you?

Remember, your life is your decision. It’s up to you if you decide to stay that way or move from your “familiar zone”.

The Right Time To Say A White Lie

Posted on January 17, 2008 by Hye

This is a follow-up post in relation to our topic yesterday about "Is it okay to tell a White Lie". Everyone's been honest in sharing their opinion and everyone has their own point of view. Thanks everyone for your honesty and frankness : D

I guess it's my time to share my opinion if it's okay to tell a white lie.

I admit I hate hearing lies. I've heard too much lies before and they hurt me especially after hearing the truth. But I also confess that I told lies before and still telling it sometimes. This is me, and I have to tell the truth :D

Whoever did not lie is a liar. It's a genuine fact that everyone had lied - to ourselves, to our family, to our loved ones, to our friends, to our peers, to our teachers.

PinoccioIt is true that "The truth hurts", but it's truer that "A lie hurts more". Of course we hate lies, who doesn't? But as I asked yesterday "Will you rather hear a hurtful truth or hear a white lie?"

We have to admit that we have to say a lie for the sake of protecting one's feeling. It could be because that person is a sensitive person and he can't take negative criticism. We also have to consider our relationship to that person. If we know that person well and we think that the truth will not hurt him, then I think being straight forward and frank is the best thing to do. But if we know don't really know that person especially his feeling, then I think the best way to do is to tell your opinion in an indirect way or tell a white lie.

I think the real question is "When is the right time to say a white lie?" What do you think?

Is It Okay To Tell White Lies?

Posted on January 16, 2008 by Hye

Is it okay to tell white lies? Why do you have to say a white lie when you can actually tell them the truth? Is it because you are protecting yourself? Or are you protecting someone's feeling? Is white lie considered a sin or not?

For example, if I will to ask you your opinion about my blog, will you tell positive things just to protect my feelings? Will you say "It's nice", "You've got a wonderful blog", "Nice template" just to satisfy me? Or will you say something based on your opinion not minding if I get hurt by your negative feedback?

White LiesAnother example, if a friend were to ask you if how she looked on her new dress and you see her dress doesn't suit her, what will you say? Will you say "You look beautiful"? Or will you honestly say "The dress doesn't look good on you! Threw it in the trash can!"

In my opinion, a lie is still a lie regardless if it's white, gray, or black. I know most of us hate lies. I do. I hate it when someone told me something then later, I just found out that it is nothing but a lie. Fake. Untrue. False.

We all deserve to know the truth. But the question is, will you still accept a hurtful truth or will you rather hear a white lie?

These are the questions ringing in my mind right now and I am looking forward hearing your opinion. What's your stand with white lies? Do you practice it or not? Please be honest. Everyone's opinion is accepted.

Opportunity Does Not Have A Boundary

Posted on January 13, 2008 by Hye

Today's Sunday and I'm not suppose to post an article but because I've got a very wonderful feedback from a fellow blogger that needs my attention, I decided to take some moment to create a post as an answer to Thomas' questions.

First, I would like to thank Thomas for his wonderful opinion about my post yesterday. Thanks Thomas and it's my pleasure answering your query based on my opinion.

Thomas asked: "What do you mean by writing "Go, find your fate before it's too late..."? That's the truth, but ... for example, people with disabilities, is it too late to start the new life for them already? Are the aged the hopeless?

Opportunity Is Not LimitedWhat I mean by the statement "Go find your fate before it's too late" is to take a move now to make a difference in your life. I'm referring to people who are just waiting for chances, sitting somewhere without doing anything. As for the people with disabilities, in my opinion, it’s never too late for them to have a new life. They have the same chance as what other "normal" people have. In my city, I'm seeing disabled people who do not see their disability as a hinder to their success. As I observe, they are more optimistic in finding their fate rather than those some normal people.

Being old does not mean you’re hopeless. Being old does not mean, you no longer have a chance. While there’s life, there’s still an opportunity. It could be a chance to share the love or help others.

When I say “Go now before it’s too late”, I mean “Go now before that opportunity is missed out and taken by somebody else”.
Thomas said: I am not strong in a math and therefore it would be hard to discuss either the opportunity knocks only once, or twice - are we dealing with an opportunity or with the opportunities, but one is for sure, we are responsible indeed for our success. However, what does it mean?

I am referring to a single opportunity. Of course, there are a lot of opportunities. But in my opinion, an opportunity missed will never come back. If it’ll do, then it could be better or worse but oftentimes, it will never knock back. So when you think that opportunity is your best chance, you should be grabbing it without hesitation.
Thomas said: Success is the willingness to live - the sharing of the love - the sense of the fellowship - of being not alone - that is our trust in God and the recognition of the presence of God's caring hand. Jesus is knocking without ceasing at our heart and we are responsible for the reply we make.
You are right. Success is fulfillment. It's not only about how much money you've earned or what material things you have obtained. Success is measured on how you've made your life and how you've affected other people's life.

Thank you again, Thomas :D Again, please understand that these are my opinions and I’m not asking you to agree with me or not.

Find The Opportunity, Don't Wait For It

Posted on January 12, 2008 by Hye

Yesterday, I posted and shared my opinion about "Opportunity Knocks Only Once". Thanks to my readers who shared their thoughts and opinions about this subject. Because of your wonderful feedback, I thought of posting a sequel about opportunity. This time, I want to talk about finding opportunity instead of waiting for it. This is in courtesy of Dann's and AVCR8TEUR's comments yesterday. Here are their comments:

Dann quoted: "Well, Every person has got different view about this. So I would like to share my view too. Instead of waiting for an opportunity to come and knock at my door, I would like to create one for myself. Successful people don't do different things, they just do things differently..;)"
AVCR8TEUR said: "...I still believe that if opportunity doesn't knock, you go out and make it happen. Nothing wrong with grabbing all the opportunities that comes your way, but you have to be aware of the hard work and risks. I believe successful people are risk takers, hard workers, and generally lucky. And, you're never too old to grab an opportunity."

Actually, after posting the article yesterday, I already decided to post something about finding the opportunity instead of waiting for it. But not today. Maybe next week or next month. But because I was inspired by Dann and AVCR8TEUR, I finally decided to post an article about "Finding the Opportunity" today.

It is true. We should not be spending our time waiting for the great opportunity. We have to go out and find it. Waiting and sitting inside our house will only make ourselves idle and close to chances. Great opportunities are outside, waiting for you.

Find OpportunityIn case opportunity comes in your way and knocked at your door, then consider yourself lucky. However, remember that opportunity only knocks once and they seldom do. So, if opportunity does not knock at you, you should do your job - Knock at it!

Remember, we are the one responsible for our success. If you open yourself to opportunities then the more likely you will be successful. But if you just spend your precious time waiting for a knock, then you are just wasting your time. Remember, time is gold... use every second of it.

Go, find your fate before it's too late... maybe it's just waiting for you.

Opportunity Knocks Only Once

Posted on January 11, 2008 by Hye

“Opportunity knocks on your doorsteps only once, so grab it” Had you heard this famous adage? If you say "No", I won't dare to believe you :D

Anyway, do you agree that "Opportunity knocks only once"? Why or why not?

In my opinion, an opportunity is like running water in the river which will never return if you let it go. An opportunity that already knocked at you will never again knock same as the way it is. If it will knock again, it will be different - could be better or worse.

Most of the time, the same opportunity will never come back. If it will and is the same as is, then you must be one of the luckiest persons. But we all know that life is not only about luck. According to some experts, luck is only 10% of success. That means, 90% of success depends on YOU.

OpportunityIf opportunity only knocks once, should we grab all opportunity coming in our way? Hmmnnn.

Some people may think that it's not possible to grab every opportunity. I think there's nothing wrong in taking each and every chance as long as you are doing it one at a time. I mean, take one opportunity after the other. If you grab a certain opportunity and found out that it's not working on you, then let it go. No regrets. At least you have tried and gave your best :D

Opportunities are still opportunities. They knock and go if you won't let them in. Sometimes, great opportunity seldom knocks. So while it's knocking on your doorsteps, why not let it in?

Opportunities are our chances to grow so if you think you should be grabbing it, then grab it. Successful people are those who grab chances and take risks. They are the people who are known to be risk takers or opportunist. They are the people who dodge their inhibitions and who are not afraid to fall. Successful people are opportunity grabber. They are open to thoughts, changes, and possibilities.

Lastly, I got this message from a friend and I want to share it here:

"When opportunities comes in and knock at you, grab it. You are still young so do your best to reach your goal! Don't wait till you got old to start!"

Take My Son, A Very Inspiring Story

Posted on January 8, 2008 by Hye

While I was browsing my hard drive awhile ago, a Word document catch my attention. It was one of my old files way back college days. The document was titled "Take My Son". I remember this story was one of my favorite way back so I thought of sharing it here in my blog. This is great, take a moment to read it; it will make your day! The ending will surprise you. It is kinda long but worth your time.

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art. When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son. About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.

He said, "Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art." The young man held out this package. "I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this." The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting.

Take My SonThe father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. "Oh no sir, nothing could ever repay what your son did for me. It's a gift." The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected. The man died a few months later.

There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection. On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. "We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?" There was silence.

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, "We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one." But the auctioneer persisted. "Will somebody bid for this painting. Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?" Another voice angrily. "We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the! Van Goghs, the Rembrandts. Get on with the real bids!" But still the auctioneer continued. "The son! The son! Who'll take the son?" Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. "I'll give $10 for the painting." Being a poor man, it was all he could afford. "We have $10, who will bid $20?" "Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters." "$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?" The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son. They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections. The auctioneer pounded the gavel. "Going once, twice, SOLD for $10." A man sitting on the second row shouted, "Now let's get on with the collection!"

Inspirational StoryThe auctioneer laid down his gavel. "I'm sorry, the auction is over." "What about the paintings?" "I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings. The man who took the son gets everything!"

God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: "The son, the son, who'll take the son?" Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything. FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

Please spread this story if you find it interesting and inspirational. Talk about this in your blog. Remember that maybe "one" of the people you might have taken the time to send this to, may be just the person who needs to hear this message. You have a choice to make :D

How To Get Motivated and Get Moving

Posted on January 7, 2008 by Hye

Do you often lose your motivation to start something, say a new project or a new task? I mean, as a blogger, do you often lose your enthusiasm in writing a new post? As a mother, do you often lose your motivation to wash the clothes? As an employee, do you often lose your momentum doing your daily job - sometimes too lazy to go to work? As student, do you often lose your drive to do your homework, or sometimes too languid to attend class.

Do you ever suffer from the habit of procrastination.. where you prefer sleeping or watching a movie rather than doing an important job or going to work or school?

Com'n let's be honest.

I am sure most of us lose our motivation. I did and sometimes I still do. Isn't it more exciting watching a DVD movie or reading an interesting book, rather than starting a new task or doing a "daily" habit?

Why do you think you sometimes or often lose your motivation? Is it because the new task is boring? Difficult? Complicated? Or are we just plainly lazy to start?

Whatever the reason may be, if you delay something that should be done, in the end the only person who will get affected is - YOU... You and yourself, alone. You may admit it or not, you still have to start or do that task. You only prolonged or delayed it.

So, what should you do to keep your motivation intact?

IT IS AS SIMPLE AS: GET STARTED AND FOCUS!

Remember, the best way to achieve your goals is to just get started. Take the ACTION and FOCUS.

Knowing, Setting, and Working Your Goals

Posted on January 3, 2008 by Hye

Another new year had started. Let me ask, had you already defined and set your goals for the future or you just welcomed the year with no plan or purpose at all?

Let's admit, most of us hope for a change in life- better than our present situation. Some hope for better family life, finances, relationships, career, etc. So how can you obtain a better life if you have no goals at all?

In my opinion, knowing what you want and setting your goals are probably the two most important things in life. If you have no plans at all or if you're living your life "just as is", then definitely, you will not move forward for a better life. You will just stay as who you are, being inert in one place.

You have to define and set your goals. However, knowing and setting your goals is not enough. Of course, you have to pursue your goals and work them out. Be sure your goals are something you really want. If you do, then there's no doubt you can work toward the success of your aspirations.

Lastly, in knowing, setting, and working your goals remember these three inspirational quotes:

"To know yourself is the first and most important step to pursuing your dreams and goals." Stedman Graham

"Without the vision of a goal, a man cannot manage his own life, much less the lives of others." Genghis Khan

"The difference between a goal and a dream is the written word."
Gene Donohue

My Opinion on New Year's Resolution

Posted on January 1, 2008 by Hye

Happy New Year Everyone!!! Since this is my very first post for the Year 2008, let me share my opinion about New Year's Resolution. I know most bloggers already shared their say about New Year's Resolution a bit earlier than me. Honestly, it was really my decision to post an article about this topic today - the first day of the year 2007.

When I was just a child, my parents always remind me about my New Year's Resolution every New Year's Eve. During grade schools, my teachers always remind us to write our New Year's Resolution in a piece of paper and instruct us to read it in front of our class every first class after New Year. As a child and student, I always make sure to make this assignment.

That time, I love and always look forward for my New Year's Resolution because it was exciting and fun.

But those were the childhood days... Now, as a mature person, I no longer practice New Year's Resolution. It's not that I am missing out its fun and excitement. It’s because I believe that if you want to change something in your life, you have to change it right away. You don't have to wait for the New Year's Eve to change yourself to become a better person. If you think you are doing something wrong in your life, change it as soon as possible. I think in terms of the day's resolutions, not the year's.

It is good to have a New Year's Resolution because it means that you are willing to change yourself to be a better person for the new year. You are willing to change your bad habits and have a fresh start. But isn't it better if you change yourself to be a better person immediately, at any day of the month or any time of the day?

What is your stand about New Year's resolution?
